International Energy Agency, IEA

The International Energy Agency IEA is a cooperation platform in the field or research, development, marketing and implementation of energy technologies. Thomas Nordmann heads a working group looking at the performance and reliability of PV systems.

It was set up in 1973 by 16 industrialized nations to coordinate a common approach to the then oil crisis. Since 1974, the IEA has been an autonomous body within the framework of the OECD, and is based in Paris. The IEA PVPS is the photovoltaic power systems program of the IEA.
