Switzerland is represented by TNC Consulting AG in the «Photovoltaic Power System (PVPS)» Task II program of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The Objectives of the IEA-PVPS Task II:
1. International database. Building an international database with system and measurement data from the PV systems of member countries.
2. Evaluation of systems. Analysis of data with emphasis on technical performance and costs.
3. Monitoring Handbook. Guide for data entry and analysis of measurement data according to international standards.

Subtask 6
As project director of Subtask 6, TNC will launch the first broad study to determine «PV cost over time« in 2005. Europe, Japan and the USA will actively participate in the study. The objective is a global investigation and analysis of the whole life costs of photovoltaic systems. The analysis covers system, operating and capital costs. TNC will perform data entry on an Internet platform that will contain key photovoltaic exponents in addition to the over 2,000 users of the Task 2 database. Data on effective project, system and maintenance costs will then be entered on the public-access website of IEA PVPS. The official start of this study/survey is July 9, 2005 at the European Photovoltaics Conference in Barcelona.
