The GISS study estimates how many sophisticated metal/glass facades are suitable for GISS building-integrated solar energy systems (photovoltaics, solar thermal energy). The study is based on the figures for facade surface areas that was made available by Wüest & Partner AG, a company who conducts annual market analyses on behalf of the SZFF company. The researched data extends from 1996 to 2008.
Objective of the study:
TNC recently conducted a survey of the various energy conservation measures that were singled out five years ago in the Energy 2000 investment program. It was determined that these measures, as estimated by the investors, actually succeeded in practice after four to five heating seasons. We also surveyed the level of satisfaction among the investors regarding the measure they had taken. The survey focused on investors who specialized in building envelopes, heat generation, renewable energy sources, lighting and projects related to the above measures. A total of 1165 project participants from the German-speaking Switzerland and 77 from the French-speaking Switzerland took part in the survey. That means 62% of the project participants in the German-speaking Switzerland and 49% in the French-speaking Switzerland were part of the follow-up survey
